This page is a work in progress, but I feel strongly drawn today to get it posted. I listen to my instincts even when it doesn't make a lot of sense, or I don't feel ready. So you will watch it unfold and take shape... and the probably change again. That's life, right?
I had the great pleasure of meeting Angella after she led the a short Inner Peace Inner Tough Zen Method class at the Ovarian Cancer National Alliance conference this past July in Washington D.C. She radiates Light, and I felt drawn to meet her. I introduced myself, we chatted briefly, she gave me one of her books with a free DVD with the Zen Method, and we parted ways. I didn't really talk with her until the end of September, though I was still intrigued and I had started using the Zen Method DVD.
She messaged me on Facebook and we set a time to talk on the phone. And she told me about this new incredible new project that's been birthed from Inner Peace for Inner Tough's The Zen Method. Are you wondering what it is exactly? Angella explains it best (from Inner Peace for Inner Tough~
Inner Peace for Inner Tough is an interactive book project that will become the Training Manual for Health Practitioners and Trainers to use for clients suffering from chronic stress disorder.
This project starts with training three individuals (A Navy Vet, A Cancer Survivor and a Single Mom) with effective tools for stress management.
My name is Angella Hamilton. I am the Creator and Founder of the Inner Peace for Inner Tough Project. I have spent the last 8 years helping clients reduce stress and build strength. You can find out more about me at http://zenmethodtaichi.com.
I decided to launch this campaign because I know firsthand what this program can do for people. I wanted to show the world that Tai Chi is not just for old people in the park, and no matter what kind of stress you are facing, you can learn to navigate through it with grace. Learning the movement in Zen Method not only changes your body, it changes your thoughts. Chronic low level stress is killing our Nation. The people included in this project have families that need them. They are advocates in our society which needs them to continue their important work.
The three individuals chosen will be personally trained by me to learn how to effectively deal with chronic stress. In that process, I will be training them how to become an Instructor as well so they will be able to continue the work and share what they have learned for years to come.
In the process, we will be documenting and recording their triumphs and trials in order to create a training manual for Health Practitioners to use with their clients.
With deep, sincere gratitude,
Angella M. Hamilton
Here's the astounding and wonderful part- she asked ME to be the cancer Survivor for this amazing project. Whoa. Wow. I exploded in gratitude as my brain tried to understand the enormity of this gift and opportunity.
I'm in the very early part of my training... and I'll be sharing the process here on my blog.
Meanwhile, here are some links to help paint a more vivid picture of The Zen Method.
